I know me too it's really awful. Don't get me wrong I don't think people should shirk their work duties and get a pass because they have families to support. I just hate to see people's jobs at risk because of office blood sport and people gunning for someone just because they can.
I try to stay above the fray and do the careful dance of showing up for team functions so I don't appear "uppity" without getting sucked into the factions. For whatever reason she has turned her attention toward me now that I am in her department in a way I was able to avoid before. Hopefully I have been there for others enough when it's my turn others will be there for me.
