I was born and spent half of my childhood in NJ. I spent the rest and my adulthood in NC. I have close ties to my family in NJ and NC. So I guess that would explain the crazy mix. But I never say Pop I always say soda...

But weird, 'cos I'm definitely a New Englander type. I guess I'm more careful about pronounciation.
I say: soda. A big sandwich is a grinder or a sub. And Don and Dawn are not the same name.

ok, now that i've got that out of my system, i have a Midlander accent or "no accent at all". which is funny b/c i've lived in the South my whole life and my mom's relatives are the only ones not from here--they're from NY. so what's up w/ that?
